Ilija with WC into second round

lija comes back to Germany, this week he is playing the ATP Challenger in Wolfburg. There he got a WC for the main draw.
Stefan Seifert, a German lefthander was the opponent in the first round.
The match started late in the evening, because of long matches before, but Ilija started perfectly, he broke Seifert’s service immediatley. This was enough to win the first set 6-4.
The second set was dominated by the service games, until 5-5. With great fighting spirit and and amazing winners, Ilija got the game to serv for the match at 6-5.
Ilija won the match 6-4, 7-5.
The next opponent will be T. Schoorel (NED).

Davis Cup Time

It´s Davis Cup Time…

It takes more than skill to play for your country. Davis Cup means to present your country,to play for your crowd,together with the other players in one team.

Ilija is nominated to present his country Serbia. The country where he grew up and his heart beats for, he wants the country to be proud of him when he shows his skills, his fighting spirit and his will to win for this team, for this nation and for all the people who believe in him and this team.

From Friday – Sunday, the first round of the 2012 Davis Cup by BNP Paribas is going to take place. Serbia will face Sweden.
The tie will be played in Nis, Serbia.
Nominated for Serbia are:
-Janko Tipsarevic
-Viktor Troicki
-Ilija Bozoljac
-Nenad Zimonjic

In the Swedish team are M. Ryderstedt, C. Bergman, F. Prpic and R. Lindstedt going to play.

The first match starts on Friday, 10th February, at 14:00 p.m.

Season 2012 starts in Germany

Interclubs in France

Ilija is participating for AS BONDY at the annual interclub matches in France. November 12th was the first match day. Ilija lost his single match 4/6 7/6 6/1 against German Julian Reister. His team was playing against ASPTT METZ.
In doubles Ilija and his partner Baptise Dupuy beat the German duo Julian Reister and Andre Begemann 3/6 6/4 10/7.

All in all AS BONDY vs. ASPTT METZ ended 3:3.

Davis Cup Semifinal

Davis Cup Champion 2010 is going to play the Semifinal of the Davis Cup by BNP PARIBAS 2011 against Argentina in Belgrade. Beogradska Arena, the place where Serbia won the title, will be again the venue for Davis Cup. Ilija, as a long time member of the Team, is sparringspartner this week and will support his team mates, Novak Djokovic, Viktor Troicki, Janko Tipsarevic and Nenad Zimonjic as good as possible. He played with Nenad earlier this year in the first round tie and won the doubles.
The Argentinian team is: Juan Martin del Potro, Juan Monaco, David Nalbandian, Juan Ignacio Chela.

Friday will be the first Matches.

Ilija storms into final

Atpos, California – first final of the season. Last weekend Ilija has been at the quarterfinal of the davis cup between Sweden and Serbia and this weekend he is in the final of the ATP Challenger in Aptos! Another tough match this week, he beat Carsten Ball 76 63 yesterday! Today is the final against L. Grigelis!

We all wish Ilija good luck at this final! Idemooo Ika!

Bozoljac – Ball in 1/2-final

The 1/4-final against A. Bogdanovic was a tight match. Ilija won the first set 7-6 (6), but Bogdanovic did not give up and won the second set 7-6 (8). In the last set, Ilija was able to break his opponent’s serve and to keep that break for the rest of the set. He won the final set 6-3!

In the upcoming 1/2-final, C. Ball (AUS) is Ilija’s opponent. The match will be the second match after 11 a.m. on Center Court.

In the doubles competition, Ilija and his partner lost against the fourth seeded Monroe/Sitak 7-5. 6-2.

Challenger Aptos in the USA

In the week after the Davis Cup 1/4-final (Serbia defeated Sweden), Ilija plays the challenger in Aptos, USA.

In the singles competition, Ilija is seeded on position 7 and defeated American Steve Johnson, who got a WC for this tournament, with 6-3, 6-3 in the opening round. Afterwards, the opponent in the second round was J. Baker (GBR), Ilija won the match 2-6, 6-1, 7-6 (4).

In the third round, A. Bogdanovic is waiting for Ilija.

This week, Ilija plays doubles as well, together with K. Skupski (GBR). In their first round match, they defeated Grigelis/Kunitsyn 6-7 (3), 6-4, 10-7. The next opponents will be N. Monroe and A. Sitak.

It is time for Davis Cup again!
In the 1/4-final Serbia has to play against Sweden.

Ilija, as a constant part of the team, and the other Serbian players are in Sweden since Sunday to get prepared for the match.

While Serbia nominated all of the top players, R. Soderling won’t play for Sweden.
